Athletic Partnerships

As Marketing Manager, I led Wenspok Companies’ athletic sponsorship strategy, building and managing partnerships that strengthened Wendy’s presence in local communities while delivering consistent fan engagement and brand visibility. This work required identifying the right partners, negotiating sponsorship structures that aligned with brand and operational goals, and overseeing execution across events, media, and in-market activations.

In addition to maintaining long-standing rodeo partnerships across the Columbia Basin, I expanded Wendy’s sports sponsorship portfolio to include Minor League Baseball teams. Across all partnerships, I focused on designing multi-touchpoint sponsorships—combining in-game triggers, media support, and community-facing elements—to ensure each partnership delivered value beyond a single activation.

Spokane Indians Baseball Club

In 2023, I expanded Wenspok Companies’ sports marketing efforts by initiating and securing a multi-year partnership with the Spokane Indians Baseball Club. I led sponsorship negotiations and activation planning for a three-year agreement positioning Wendy’s as the exclusive Home Run Sponsor, creating a repeatable, high-energy in-game moment tied directly to fan participation.

Home Run Sponsorship Activation:

  • One home run: Two ballpark sections received a free small Frosty
  • Two or more home runs: The entire ballpark received a free small Frosty

When structuring the partnership, I intentionally negotiated Wendy’s inclusion in the Indians’ existing Take Me Out to the Ballgame program to ensure the sponsorship extended beyond game-day promotion. This element added a meaningful community component to the partnership, with $10,000 in tickets donated annually to nonprofit organizations, allowing local families to attend games while reinforcing Wendy’s community commitment.

This partnership required ongoing coordination across marketing, operations, and team stakeholders to manage activation timing, fulfillment, and execution throughout the season.

Eugene Emeralds Baseball Club

2024

Building on the success of the Spokane partnership, I pursued additional Minor League Baseball opportunities and initiated a sponsorship with the Eugene Emeralds Baseball Club to support Wendy’s presence in the Eugene market. I negotiated a multi-component partnership designed to balance media exposure, youth engagement, and in-stadium visibility.

Key Sponsorship Elements (2024–2025):

  • Junior Ems Club – Presenting sponsorship of a youth program offering free Sunday game admission
  • Radio Package – Two 30-second spots and one 15-second live read aired across all 132 games
  • Boomer Bobblehead Giveaway – Exclusive sponsorship of the 2024 Boomer Bobblehead promotion

During negotiations, I prioritized adding community-focused elements to the partnership to support Wendy’s broader local engagement goals. As part of that process, the Emeralds created a High School Band Showcase specifically for Wendy’s, informed by the brand’s existing investment in music education through the We Love Band™ program. This addition allowed Wendy’s to extend its community presence into the arts while differentiating the partnership from standard sponsorship packages.

While execution of these programs was led by the Emeralds, I focused on structuring the partnership to ensure each component served a distinct purpose within the overall sponsorship strategy.

Rodeo Partnerships

2022
2023

Wenspok Companies maintained long-standing sponsorships with rodeos across the Columbia Basin, reinforcing Wendy’s connection to the region’s Western heritage. As Marketing Manager, I oversaw these partnerships and ensured they remained aligned with brand objectives and operational priorities year over year.

I worked closely with the Director of Area Operations to determine featured Wendy’s products for ticket-back promotions and coordinated execution across multiple events, balancing consistency with local relevance.

Key Rodeo Sponsorships:

  • Pendleton Round-Up – Pendleton, OR
  • Ellensburg Rodeo – Ellensburg, WA
  • Moses Lake Roundup – Moses Lake, WA

These events attracted thousands of attendees annually and required disciplined coordination to deliver reliable, community-focused brand activations across markets.
